Description:

Five Half-Truths of Organizational Culture

This session originally was conceived as 5 Mythsof Organizational Culture. But, like many popular myths, each of these ideas holds a grain of truth, something that can persuade people to accept it without making a closer examination. The risk if we forge ahead with these "half-truths" is that we actually will weaken our efforts to build the high-performing cultures we need. In the ongoing war for talent, we need to cultivate work environments that attract and retain top contributors and enable both them and our organizations to mutually thrive. When people aren't thriving, they under-perform for their organizations. And the more organizations strain to achieve their goals, the fewer resources they have for people. Using real-world examples, this session illustrates how we must engage our leaders in culture-shaping that aligns to organizational strategy, brings out the best in people, is sustainable, and gets results.
